Christmas!
I've just returned to work from a week off for Christmas and New Years day. I got to spend the whole week with Jess and Kiera. I really enjoyed it.
On Christmas Eve we visited with My dad, and then with my Mom. Kiera was spoiled as expected. :D Christmas morning was of course spent at home, and then with Jess's parents until mid afternoon or so. Aside from having a head cold for the whole week, Kiera loved it. She's still a little too young to really get what's going on with Christmas, and presents. She's learned how to unwrap gifts, but she's really easily distracted. She'll open up a gift and then instead of opening the next one, she'll want to play with the one she just opened. We had a good time though.
On Christmas Eve, we opened up Kiera's stocking. Inside she had some PJ's for Christmas. A cute little set that said "Santa know's I'm sleepy" on the front. Then we made our Christmas Eve rounds. From 3 to 6:30 or so we spent at my Dad's place. After we left, we had some time to kill before heading up to my Mom's place. So we drove around town looking at Christmas Lights. We expected Kiera to nod off and take a nap, but she didn't. She must have been enjoying herself. we made it to my Mom's place around 8, and stayed until 10 or so. Then it was time to get Kiera home to bed. She fell asleep on the way home. So we snuck her into bed.
Santa brought Kiera a pile of gifts. Christmas morning the little piles of gifts that Jess and I had gotten for eachother were dwarfed by kiera's pile of gifts. We got videos and pictures of her opening presents. Not certain yet how much of them will end up online, but I'll say that she had a blast.
The rest of the week off was nice. I got to play with Kiera, and spend time with Jess. Jess had bought me two neat gifts that I spent some time with. The first was a Kinect for the Xbox 360, the second was a Game for the PS3, Dragon Age 2. In between enjoying these, we cleaned up the house a bit, and I helped Jess with Kiera. Something I don't get to do normally since I have to work, and spend 11 hours a day away from home (with commute and all). I enjoyed myself, and enjoyed spending time with Kiddo.
Kiddo and Jess were both sick all week unfortunately. Both with head colds. Somehow I've managed to stay healthy thus far.
New years eve, we got together for a NYE/Birthday barty for Jess's mom. Kiera had fun, but of course couldn't stay up until Midnight. After she went to bed, we fired up the Kinect and Jess and her friend Amy had a ball playing Just Dance, and Dance Central. I enjoyed my last Rude Elf (a very tasty and potent beer brewed by Fegley's, at Allentown Brew Works).
Happy New year kiddo!
