Snow! In October!

I can't remember it ever happening in my life time, but this past weekend we got 5" of snow!  On October 29th a freak snow-storm hit the east coast.  We were a little un-prepared.  We had no boot's for kiddo, and only some thin gloves.  Otherwise, we were good to go.  Generator was gassed up, and i'd test fired it only a few weeks back.  Snow-blower was ready to go, shovels check.  Overall the storm wasnt that bad for us.  The tree's still have leaves on them so the biggest issue was snow sticking to the leaves and weighing down the branches.  This wasn't a problem on our property, but it caused a lot of problems all over the place.  Branches, and whole tree's were coming down all over the place.  This meant a lot of power outages.

On Sunday, the day after the storm, we bundled kiddo up as best we could, and took her out to see what all this white stuff on the ground was.  We built a snowman in the back yard, and took her for a walk through the Cemetery across the street from our house. Kiera wasn't too interested in the snow man.  She was more interested in the snow itself.

We tried to give the snow man an October look. I don't like skipping holidays.  Snow men are more of a winter/Christmas thing. So I didn't want Halloween to feel left out.  If you've ever heard my rants about everyon's apparent forgetfulness around Thanksgiving, you'd understand.

In all, Kiddo had a good time, and we enjoyed the snow.  Others apparently had less fun with it.  I have a co-worker who just got his power back Yesterday, and a tree fell on his house. We're just thankful that we didn't have any serious problems due to the storm.
