Well, there goes the neighborhood.  Kiera's walking now.  Not for more than a few steps at at time, but i'm pretty sure thats going to come soon.  She can make it about 6-10 feet on her own before she gets too excited and falls over.  Its cute.  She'll start off slow, and then lean forward and start picking up speed.  Doesnt take long before she cant hold it together anymore. 

We've had our first family cold now too.  We've gotten through a year with no real illness.  At least not all of us at once.  Other parents have told me how their kids are germ magnets, and how they'll be sick all the time, and in turn Jes and I would be too.  So far that hasn't been the case.  Maybe now that she's moving around more... Who knows.  Last Monday Kiera started out with a sort of horse cough, by tuesday she was congested, and tuesday night, had a 103 degree fevor!  Jess was also showing the signs of a cold at that point too, i was the best off of all of us with just an annoying soreness in my throat, and a slight bit of congestion.  We took Kiera to urgent care (sort of a cross between a standard doctors office, and an emergency room) on tuesday night after we discovered that fevor.  They found two ear infections, and a sore throat that they thought might be the start of strep.  They perscribed her an antibiotic of the ear infections anyway, so they didn't put her through the trauma of getting her throat swabbed for the test to find out if it was indeed strep.  Wednesday I stayed home to help take care of my sick babes.  Thursday Jes finally got to the Doctor, and they told her that she was already beyond the worst of it, and that she wouldnt need any medicine.  Sure enough, she's starting to feel better now. 

I discovered the other day, that once Kiera's first birthday hit, we seem to have stopped taking pictures of her!  It's weird.  I have this collection of pictures from the first year, we have so many that i had to sort them into months, they end with her first birthday.  The intention was to start a new collection for her second year.  It's been over a month, and we havent accumulated enough pictures yet!  Going to have to rectify this.  Guess i'll start by adding this:
