One year, today.
Today, little Kiera tunrs 1!! Happy birthday Kiddo! Everyone always takes milestones like this as an opportunity to look back at where we've been. I generally like to do things differently than the rest of the human race, but today, I'm having trouble. We're having a nice birthday bash for Kiddo, and last night I sat down and picked out 100 or so pictures over the course of the past year to put into a slideshow, that we're planning on setting up at the party. Something to run during the party, so people can see what they missed while we raised her for the past 365 days. The act of going throuhg the pictures made me do just what I might have tried to avoid. Thinking about everything that we've been through with her since last year at this time. To start, just have a look at how she's grown!

The first picture was taken a few days after she was born. Still in the hospital, we hadn't even brought her home yet. The second picture was taken at the tail end of July 2011, for her 1st year portraits. Quite a change! She's changed in a lot more than physical size of course. She's a bright little girl, I'm sure every parent says that. It's a pride thing. Maybe I'm biast, but i think she's smart. :D She's starting to get this walking thing going on. She cant walk on her own yet, but with our help she does an OK job, and she walks with her push walker really well. She's starting to get the hang of balance, she can stand on her own, just hasnt gotten up the courage to take those first steps.
We've got 30 people who've rsvp'd to her party. Old friends of mine, family, friends of Jes's. Jes has planned out a ton of activities, we've got a Piniata! Bingo for prizes, party favours for the kids, there's even a gun range, though i doubt well be using that. ;) Though I'm sure uncle Chris probably want's to try out his new handgun.. Show off, I've been planning to get one for a year now, he gets one scare and runs out and gets one.. Must be nice. ;)
So anyway, we've got to start getting things ready for Kiddo's party. So I better get moving.
Happy Birthday Kiera! Daddy Loves you!
