Boo boo.

Well, we applied, what, as far as I can remember, is Kiera's first band-aid today.  She was getting a bath.  She was all done getting clean, and was playing with some some tub toys while I supervised her.  The dogs barked at something, likely nothing, they're always doing that.  Kiera got startled and stood up in the tub, her foot slipped and she banged her chin off of the side of the tub.  Poor kiddo.  She got a cut on her chin.  A pretty nasty looking one too.  Nothing that's worth a trip to the ER or anything.  She was quite unhappy about this

Autonomous.

Kiddo's 19 months old now.  Soon we'll break the 2 year mark, and I can start saying her age in years instead of mentally tracking Months.  That'll be nice.  :P  I've been saying for months (whenever I take the time to post anyway) that she's getting into everyting.  Well now it's not just that.  She's really starting to think for herself, and do things that are less random and more directly a result of curiosity.  It's _really_ neat to watch!  She has a personality, not just a cute little baby clone.  You know what I mean, babies know a few nois

Christmas!

I've just returned to work from a week off for Christmas and New Years day.  I got to spend the whole week with Jess and Kiera. I really enjoyed it.

On Christmas Eve we visited with My dad, and then with my Mom.  Kiera was spoiled as expected. :D  Christmas morning was of course spent at home, and then with Jess's parents until mid afternoon or so. Aside from having a head cold for the whole week, Kiera loved it.  She's still a little too young to really get what's going on with Christmas, and presents.  She's learned how to unwrap gifts, but she's really easily distracted.  She'll open up a gift and then instead of opening the next one, she'll want to play with the one she just opened.  We had a good time though.

Thanksgiving, and the holidays.

After the freak snow storm we had on Halloween, the weather actually warmed up, and it's been pretty mild here for most of November.  This past Thursday was Thanksgiving, and Today was the first day of rifle season.  It's so weird.  I can remember getting out in the woods when I was younger, on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and it was COLD!  Sometimes there was even snow on the ground.  This year, and the past few for that matter, it's been above freezing.  Must be global warming.

Snow! In October!

I can't remember it ever happening in my life time, but this past weekend we got 5" of snow!  On October 29th a freak snow-storm hit the east coast.  We were a little un-prepared.  We had no boot's for kiddo, and only some thin gloves.  Otherwise, we were good to go.  Generator was gassed up, and i'd test fired it only a few weeks back.  Snow-blower was ready to go, shovels check.  Overall the storm wasnt that bad for us.  The tree's still have leaves on them so the biggest issue was snow sticking to the leaves and weighing down the branches.  Th

Getting better at this walking thing, and our first family cold.

Well, there goes the neighborhood.  Kiera's walking now.  Not for more than a few steps at at time, but i'm pretty sure thats going to come soon.  She can make it about 6-10 feet on her own before she gets too excited and falls over.  Its cute.  She'll start off slow, and then lean forward and start picking up speed.  Doesnt take long before she cant hold it together anymore.

First birthday party!

Yesterday was Kiera's first brithday party!  We had about 30 people show up, games, prizes, only a little rain, and good times.  She got a slew of gifts, mostly clothing, she has plenty of toys at the moment anyway.  We really needed clothing for her, so that was good.  Not much else to say, I'll add in some pictures later.

Party went off without a hitch.  Our little girl's One now!

One year, today.

Today, little Kiera tunrs 1!!  Happy birthday Kiddo!  Everyone always takes milestones like this as an opportunity to look back at where we've been.  I generally like to do things differently than the rest of the human race, but today, I'm having trouble.  We're having a nice birthday bash for Kiddo, and last night I sat down and picked out 100 or so pictures over the course of the past year to put into a slideshow, that we're planning on setting up at the party.  Something to run during the party, so people can see what they missed while we raised her for the past

Coming up on 1 year old!

First, here's a cute little kiddo video.

9 months, crawling, teeth, and getting into trouble.

Well, Kiera hit 9 months on 5/13.  That weekend, she started to figure out how to crawl, and it's been interesting ever since.  Jes has spent this past week cleaning... everything, because now we have a little investigator, that finds every dust ball, lamp cord, and dog toy that's ever gone missing in the entire house.  She's been getting baths daily now, instead of every other day like we had been, she just gets so dirty from all of her little investigations.
